The Sengataki Waterfall is one of the natural gems strung along the Shosenkyo Range. This 30ft long magestic waterfall was formed by crust movement, and lies deep within the farthest reaches of the Shosenkyo range. The site was chosen as one of the top waterfalls in Japan for its year-round beautiful scenery. It’s water is clear and pristine, and If the conditions are right you can see a rainbow appear amongst the streams of water. The forest is beautiful year round, but travelers come from all around Japan and even from abroad to see the forest in fall, when its maple and azalia leaves turn vivid shades of red and yellow. You can walk to the waterfall easily from the nearby munciple parking lot, and the famous “Houtou” path that leads there is filled with restaurants and souvinere shops to enjoy.
